I am trying to keep myself warm this winter (despite the fact it’s a pretty warm winter this year), so I tried to make honey cinnamon ginger tea today. It was, hmmm, you’ll like it if you like ginger ^^; Maybe I should get better tasting honey.

First, I minced a piece of ginger with Cuisinart hand blender.

The one I have came with whisk and chopper attachments, which became very convenient when I needed to chop up stuff – times like when I want to make hotpot condiments, I just throw the ingredients in the chopper container and blend them away. Or when I make takoyaki and I have to chop up tons of cabbage, I just use this and it saves a whooole a lot of time. It’s not heavy like how the traditional blender are, and it is very easy to clean, so I’m using it more and more.

Anyway, I minced a piece of ginger with it and it became like this:

Then, I put that in the Thermos Nissan tea tumbler:

I’ve been wanting this for a while ever since I saw one of my coworkers was using, but didn’t like the fact that it holds only 12 oz. Well, I bought it anyway, and it came in handy when making this ginger tea.

I put a spoon of honey and some cinnamon powder in the tumbler, ginger in the infuser (yes it comes with a built-in infuser!), and pour hot water over it. I sealed the lid tightly and flipped it upside down so that ginger bits would get soaked thoroughly in hot water.

Hot water didn’t leak at all so it was good. Over all I like this tumbler, but I wish the lid was not made of plastic, and also was easy to open/close the lid. I’m kinda lazy to unscrew the infuser and the lid, and put on the drinking lid… Also this is made in China, which I tried to stay away if possible, but well, hard to tell when purchasing online. Oh well? ^^; 12 oz seems so little though. If it was 16 oz, it was probably better.

Once I’m done drinking first round, I added some more hot water and drank some more. My first round was a little too sweet, so the second round was just about right.

After three rounds of honey cinnamon ginger tea, the ginger bits looked like this:

Are they brownish from honey? Not sure where the color came from…
